Minister Arias Under Investigation For
Political Belligerence
The ministro de la Presidenica, Rodrigo
Arias, who is also brother to president
Oscar, is in hot water with the Tribunal
Supremo de Elecciones (TSE) - elections
tribunal.
The TSE is investigating minister Arias for
political belligerence for verbal attacks
and alleged bias in violation of article 146
of the Electoral Code. Minister Arias is
said to have been proselytizing, according
to the TSE secretary general, Alejandro
Bermúdez.
Depending on the results of the
investigation, minister Arias could face
disciplinary action, including the loss of
his credentials.
Bermúdez added that there is no time limit
on the investigation, but since the country
is in the midst of an election, the
investigation is expected to completed
quickly. |
