Radio Station Broadcasts Again:
Director
Tegucigalpa - Honduran radio
station Radio Globo is broadcasting again
after attackers pulled the plug on it
Sunday, its director announced Monday.
David Romero said the station was "alive,"
and no one was to silence it.
Men in facemasks entered the radio station
Sunday night and destroyed the equipment
during the broadcast of a concert promoted
by the National Front of Resistance. The
resistance group is against the June 28 coup
that ousted President Manuel Zelaya.
Romero told Nicaragua's official radio La
Nueva Radio Ya that for the most part, Radio
Globo's broadcast had been restored. Yet it
would take many weeks before the restoration
was complete.
Radio Globo is owned by two of Zelaya's
supporters, Eduardo Maldonado and Alejandro
Villatoro.
