Argentines to Reject Uribe Visit

Buenos Aires - Several Argentine social organizations will repudiate Colombia''s President Alvaro Uribe''s visit to Argentina, in support of the call by Colombian citizens that live in this country.

They have planned to demonstrate at the Plaza de Mayo, in front of Casa Rosada, the government house, where President Cristina Fernandez and Uribe will hold a meeting, according to a foreign ministry announcement.

Associations of Colombian residents in Argentina called to the protest and Alternative Democratic Pole, Network of Solidarity with Colombia and State Crime Victim Movement (Argentina chapter) joined, and exhorted other civil organizations to join the action on Thursday.

The call said Uribe is responsible for jeopardizing the subcontinent's stability, with his decision to establish US military bases in Colombia.

After labeling him as traitor, assassin and corrupt man, they highlighted that "his government has committed unlimited violations of human rights, thus we can not miss this opportunity to reject his presence in Argentina.
