Panama to Ibero American Olympics of Physics
Panama - Panama will be represented by four
students during the fourteenth Ibero
American Olympics of Physics to be held in
Chile from September 27 to October 3.
These students were selected through a
contest during a first phase, at national
level. Later a second stage left the four
students as winners.
The Panamanian representatives are Leonel
Iturralde, Pablo Medina, Anel Ruiz and Lily
Lau Hou; all students of 12th grade.
In addition to receiving a gold medal for
the results in their classification, those
chosen received scholarships for the
Formación y Aprovechamiento de los Recursos
Humanos (IFARHU) to continue university
studies.
In the coming few days they will intensify
their preparation with the aid of students
from the Technological University of Panama.
Competitors in the Physics Olympics must
answer an experimental and theoretic
examination that covers subjects such as
thermodynamics, oscillations and waves,
electric charge and electromagnetism.
