Zelaya: New Actions to Return to
Honduras
Managua - Honduras Constitutional President Jose
Manuel Zelaya said this week he is looking
at other options of pacific resistance, to
return peacefully to power, while coup
leaders intensified actions of repression
against the Honduras popular resistance
movement.
After several days of talks in Managua,
Nicaragua, Zelaya went back to the border
city of Ocotal, where he reaffirmed his will
continue the fight for his return to
Honduras.
"The peoples of any nation have the right to
pacifically protest if somebody seizes power
using the military force, so we are making
use of that right", the Honduran leader told
thousands of followers gathered in Ocotal.
The leader announced he is coordinating
actions to create a Pacific Popular Army,
with some of the fellows that crossed
Honduras border to support his restitution,
after the coup that took place on June 28.
Regarding this announcement, he denied what
is being said by some media that he is
coordinating military actions to fight the
coup. Other options of pacific resistance
are being analyzed, but only with pacific
aims, he said.
On the other hand, he will continue his
campaign to return to power abroad. He
confirmed he will meet on Tuesday with
Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
