71 Detained In Police Sweep Of Jacó
71 foreigners were detained by authorities in Jacó for not having their documents at hand in a joing police operation by the Dirección de Investigaciones Especializadas, the Archivo Policial, the Fuerza Pública, the Unidad Canina, the Policía Turística and the Policía de Migración.

Of the 71 detained 8 were Americans, 14 Dominicans, 17 Nicaraguans and 27 Colombians and five from various other nationalities.

The police action was Saturday night of a sweep of Jacó night spots in an effort to curb sexual exploitation in tourist destination.

Although only 71 were detained, authorities say that more than 100 people were interviewed and cross checked on police databases.
