Italian Embassy Has Him Waiting Outside Like A  Beggar
The now thin and always controversial Italian businessman, Mateo Quintavalle, got a slap on the face from the Italian embassy when they refused to open the doors and allow him in, leaving him out on the sidewalk.

Quintavalle said he was at the embassy to renew his passport.

The Italian embassy is asking him to make an appointment to be able to enter the diplomatic centre. "If I were a Costa Rican I would have to have an appointment. I am not, I am an Italian and have the right, as all Italians, not to be required to have an appointment", Quintavalle said outside the embassy gates located in San Pedro.

The Italian insists that he needs his document and cannot remain in Costa Rica without documentation.

Apparently, according to the Italian, who has been embroiled in controversy since his attempted acquisition of a soccer players to begin his own team last year, the embassy lost the photos for the document and now, months later, still is without his passport.

"The have me waiting outside as I were a beggar", said Quintavalle.

Quintavalle spent several months in jail for fraud, charged by his American investors of his lavish spending in soccer players and other luxury items instead of investing their money in real estate and tourism projects in Costa Rica, and is currently on conditional release, waiting for his day in court.
