Arias Begins 12 Day
European Tour Today
Vice-president, Laura
Chinchilla, will get a
feel of the presidential
chair while president,
Oscar Arias, is on a
tour of Europe for the
next 12 days.
Arias, accompanied by a
number of ministers and
government officials,
leaves this afternoon
and is expected back on
September 12.
The tour will take the
Costa Rica delegation to
Belgium, England and
Spain and hold meetings
with the president of
European Commission,
José Manuel Durao
Barroso, among other
European Community
officials.
In England he is
schedule to meet with
the Prince of Gaul at
the Balmoral castle and
in Spain will be
received by the Prince
of Spain, Juan Carlos.
