Venezuela, Spain Sign
Coop Accords
MADRID - Spanish and
Venezuelan governments
signed several
cooperation agreements
in Madrid, in the areas
of railway transport
system, industrial and
technology policy, and
oil supplying from
Venezuela to Spain.
Venezuelan Foreign
Affairs Minister Nicolas
Maduro and Spanish
Miguel Angel Moratinos
formally signed the
agreements, after
sustaining formal
conversations at Viana
Palace, headquarters of
FM Ministry in Madrid.
The first two paragraphs
of the document talk
about the design,
construction,
installation and
maintenance of the
railway section Puerto
Cabello -La Encrucijada
and in Caracas and its
surrounding areas.
The agreement on oil
supplying from Venezuela
to Spain establishes a
mechanism by means of
which a part of the oil
price will be destined
to a Fund to finance the
export of the goods and
services of high
technological values
towards Venezuela.
Both sides decided to
create a group of joint
work to define criteria
and forms to implement
cooperation concerning
the hydrocarbons issue.
Maduro and Moratinos
also talked about
strengthening
cooperation in the fight
against drug
trafficking.
Spanish Minister
affirmed current
bilateral relations with
Venezuela are intensive,
normal, positive and
fruitful and recalled
the positive results of
the visit of Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez in
July.
