Nicaragua Signs EU Agreements
MANAGUA - Nicaragua signed on Friday several agreements with the European Union (EU) that aimed at improving business and investments in the nation and giving budget support to education.

According to Foreign Minister Samuel Santos, an initial outlay of 10, 700 000 euros will be ascribed to the initiatives, part of the EU 2007-2013 cooperation for a total 214 million euros.

"The agreement is highly significant for both parts because it shows confidence in and acknowledgement to the government of Nicaragua", said Santos.

"Some sectors not only aim at affecting the governmental image and efforts but, above all, the poor and working people who will benefit from the EU cooperation", added the foreign minister.
