Legalization of Drugs
Costa Rican president
Oscar Arias stated
opposition to the
proposal of his Honduran
peer Manuel Zelaya to
legalize the use of
drugs around the world.
Arias said that
generally speaking he
does not support such an
idea. He further
explained that a probe
found that there are
200,000 Costa Ricans -
or 5% of the population
- who who suffer drug
addiction and that such
legalization would not
be convenient, since the
use would further
increase. |
