Bolivia Trades Regional
Ecological Fair
COCHABAMBA - The Third
Fair of the Latin
American and Caribbean
Ecological Producer
concluded here Saturday
with the attendance of
400 exhibitors from
different nations of the
region.
That commercial event is
part of the Latin
American and Caribbean
Meeting of Ecological
Agriculture organized by
the Association of
Organizations of
Ecological Producers of
Bolivia (AOPEB).
Besides the meeting and
the fair, a business
round was organized,
that gathered committed
national and
international producers
to strengthen a net of
healthy and fair
commercialization in the
region.
According to AOPEB, the
three initiated
activities on September
29 are very useful to
open new markets to the
ecological producers of
the country that, in the
last years, has been
able to certify products
like cocoa, quinua,
coffee and chestnut. In
2007, the ecological
producers of Bolivia
summed up sales abroad
for a near value to 30
million dollars.
In the last years the
demand of ecological
products in the world
market has sustainably
grown, which has
motivated that Latin
American countries such
as Bolivia improve its
production capacity.
Francisco Mollo,
president of AOPEB,
specified that the
institution affiliates
at the moment 65
organizations which are
integrated by nearly
60,000 families of
producers. |
