The Instituto
Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) has
promised that its
network will be able to
handle the flood of
messages and according
to ICE spokesperson,
Elberth Durán, the
institution will have
extra staff on hand to
ensure that all the
messages get delivery.
María José was voted to
compete against Panama's
Margarita Henríquez for
the Latin American Idol
title that will be
broadcast live from
Argentina on Sony
Entertainment Television
on Wednesday at 7pm
local time
The voting will be open
until 6pm local time and
the winner with the most
votes will be announced
during the live
broadcast.
Voting is from all over
Latin America.
Durán explained that ICE
will have additional
personnel monitoring the
network expecting
hundreds of thousands of
messages to be sent,
comparing the volume to
Mother's Day (August 15)
and Christmas.
To motivate Costa Ricans
to vote, the Banco
Nacional and the Banco
de Costa Rica have
opened bank accounts for
deposits that will be
handed over to the
family to finance the
voting.
At the Banco de Costa
Rica (BCR), it is
handing out a coupon for
each vote that will be
used to for a raffle at
the Tommy Hilfiger.
Anyone making a deposit
to the account at the
BCR branches in
Multiplaza Escazú and
East, Paseo de las
Flores, Mall
Internacional and Banco
Infantil, can get their
coupons on Monday and
will be elegible to win
a prize of one of ten
¢100.000 gift
certificates. |
