Evaluates Trade Accords
The Managing Directors
for Trade Agreements in
Central America and the
Dominican Republic
evaluated the course of
the commercial
agreements in the
countries of the area,
commented several media
in this country
Thursday.
In this second session
of the forum,
participants debated on
the progress and backing
movement of the Free
Trade Agreement with the
US and pendant
commitments regarding
FTAs negotiated with
Mexico and Chile.
Salvadoran Economy
Minister Yolanda de
Gaviria stated that
regarding how the
meeting developed
Wednesday, elaboration
of proposals to adjust
the regulations of the
agreement established
with the US government
will go forward.
The FTA with the US
contains 1,022 original
regulations, and they
should be reviewed,
participants in the
meeting coincided,

The directors also took
the chance in the
meeting to prepare the
agenda for what Central
American and the
Dominican Republic vice
ministers they will meet
on June 3 for.
In that meeting on June
3, officials will
discuss on aspects
linked to the agreement
with Washington and
elaborate strategies for
the next meeting of the
Free Trade Commission.
