Costa Rica National
Junior Surf Team ready
for bi-national tourny
and World Juniors
The 14 selected young
men and women of the
Costa Rica National
Junior Surf Team are
ready and set to go to
the 2008 Quiksilver
International Surfing
Assocation (ISA) World
Junior Surfing
Championship (WJSC) that
will take place in
Hossegor-Capbreton-Seignosse,
France from May 24
through June 1, 2008.
The combined team -
Jairo Pérez, Rudy
Jiménez, Anthony Segura,
Danny Bishko, Orlando
Solís, Carlos Muñoz,
José Calderón, Mykol
Torres, Anthony
Fillingam, Anthony
Segura, Nataly Bernold,
Debbie Zec, Anastasia
Patterson, and Lupe
Galluccio - who will
compete for the tricolor
flag, will leave from
Costa Rica on Sunday,
the delegates, as well
as the team management,
will give a press
conference at the
airport about their new
challenge at the WJSC,
the fourth attended by a
National Costa Rican
Junior Team.
Previously, Ticos had
competed in Tahiti,
United States and
Portugal, and in the
last one, the team
secured a 14th place
position. In addition,
Muñoz, received
accolades as the best
Latin American surfer in
the Less than 16 Years
division. At the 2008
Quiksilver ISA WJSC in
France the goal of the
Federacion de Surf de
Costa Rica (FSC) is for
the Costa Rica National
Junior Surf Team to rise
within the first 10
spots.
