Chile Dismantles Book Forgery Ring
Pirate books worth about $2 million were seized as part of a large police operation extolled on Friday by president of the Chilean Book Chamber Eduardo Castillo.

Over 80,000 forged books by several authors were seized on Thursday by BRIDEPI (Intellectual Property Crime Brigade) of the Investigation Police, which arrested five people who were in charge of the large clandestine warehouse.

Forged books included works by Laura Esquivel, Ernesto Sabato, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and numerous school texts, Castillo, who is also president of CONAPI (National Anti-Piracy Committee), told Prensa Latina.
