Gasoline Prices Drop At
The Stroke of Midnight
The price of gasoline is
set to drop at the pumps
at the stroke of
midnight as the latest
round of price changes
takes effect.
If you can hold off
filling your tank, the
savings will mean an
extra few colones in
your pocket as the price
of a litre of super
gasoline drops by ¢13
colones, regular ¢12 an
deisel ¢16.
The new prices in effect
at midnight will be ¢565
colones for a litre of
super (down from ¢578);
¢553 for a litre of
regular (down from
¢565); and, ¢511 for a
litre of diesel (down
from ¢527).
The Autoridad Reguladora
de los Servicios
Públicos (Aresep) -
regulator of public
prices and services -
approved the reduction
on February 27 and was
published in today's
edition of the
government publication,
La Gaceta.
However, don't get used
to the lower prices, as
the state refinery,
RECOPE, is expected to
table a price adjustment
next Friday and a
increase is forecast.
RECOPE uses the
international price for
crude as a benchmark to
set prices in Costa
Rica. |
