OIJ Seeks Info To
Capture Wanted Man
The Organismo de
Investigación Judicial (OIJ)
is on the heels of one
of the most wanted men
in Costa Rica and is
asking the public for
help in capturing him.
The OIJ says that Fabio
Pérez Carbonero was
sentenced to eight years
in prison for supplying
prisoners of the Unidad
de Admisión San
Sebastián (San José
jail) with drugs and
were close to apprending
him on Monday, but the
fugitive slipped through
their hands.
A San José court
senteced Pérez for
supplying a prisoner
with 322 marijuana
cigarettes. Peréz fled
the same day the Sala
III de la Corte Suprema
de Justicia confirmed
his sentence in August
17, 2007.
Since then the oIJ have
been close to capturing
the man as they have
tracked his movements
that took to a workshop
in San Antonio de
Desamparados just two
weeks ago.
The efforts of the
authorities have been
hampered by the fact
that the majority of the
neighbours ignored the
fact that Peréz was a
wanted man.
OIJ authorities at one
point thought they had
their man when an
alleged family member
had called in to tell
authorities that Peréz
was prepared to give
himself. However, that
never did happen.
The OIJ is asking for
any information that
could help them located
and detain Peréz and are
taking calls at 295 3311
or 295 3235. |
