Vehicular Restriction of
San José May Soon Be
Expanded To Complete Day
Come Thursday the new
vehicular restriction of
San José during morning
and afternoon rush hours
will take effect.
However, the restriction
is only part of a total
package that will see
the restriction expanded
to an entire day, said
yesterday the ministra
de Obras Públicas y
Transportes, Karla
González.
On Thurdays, the
restriction will only be
applied between 6am and
8:30am and 4:30pm and
7pm in an area bounded
by the Circunvalación on
the west, south and east
of San José and La Uruca
and Tibás on the north.
However, one of the
items being discussed by
the government is to
completely restrict
vehicular circualation
of San José for the
entire day, determined
by the last digit of the
vehicles license plate.
Minister González was
realistic, however,
saying that the complete
restriction cannot be
put into place until the
intersectoral buses are
running, allowing people
to leave thier cars at
home and move around the
city by bus.
