Chavez: World Crisis
Worsening
Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez warned in
Nicaragua that the
current world crisis
will keep worsening.
Addressing nearly half a
million Nicaraguans who
gathered last night at
the John Paul II Plaza
to celebrate the 29th
anniversary of the
Sandinista Revolution,
Chavez said the greatest
of all crisis is the
lack of common sense of
those ruling the world,
as Fidel Castro wrote to
him in a recent letter.
The Venezuelan leader
also has a message for
future US presidents.
“We do not want war. We
want a peaceful road
towards a solid,
everlasting peace for
our peoples. We want no
more destabilizations,”
he stressed.
Chavez also warned US
and European Union
leaders that they should
respect the sovereignty
of the Latin American
peoples.
We are not lackeys nor
we are subordinated to
any foreign power,” he
added.
The Venezuelan President
called the Latin
American people to unite
and integrate, noting
that the region has once
again erupted like a
volcano.
“I dare to say the great
day of our America has
come, the day of unity,
freedom, and fairness,”
he pointed out. |
