Trucks Prohibited From Circulating 2pm to 9pm Today
The vehicular restrictions of heavy trucks on the roads yesterday took many truck drivers by surprise and have to now pay up the ¢5.000 colones fines issued by the Policía de Tránsito.

The restriction prohibits all trucks of 6 tonnes or more off routes 1, 2, 3 and the Braulio Carrillo between 2pm and 9pm Saturday and Sunday. The restriction is to allow a smooth traffic flow for vacationers returning home.

Traffic congestion coming into the Central Valley from the beaches and resorts is usually caused by the large number of heavy trucks crossing over the mountains.

The same restriction has been applied in other occasions, however, this time there was little or no warning.
