Court Rejects Residents Appeal
The Sala Cuarta (Constitutional Court) did not find merit with the appeal by a group of Pavas residents on who objected to work being done by the Municipalidad de San José in favour of the development of hotel Casa Roland.

The work had been stopped for some pending the court decision.

Areas residents objected to the widening of the boulevard in front of the hotel that would allow street parking for 45 vehicles for hotel guests

The court found that the work is being carried out with the proper authorization and the land belongs to the municipality and not the hotel and in no way the municipality is giving up part of the public highway.

Residents were not happy with the unexpected decision and say they will look for other ways to stop the work. Meanwhile, municipal officials say they will look to a solution to appease the residents and complete the work commenced a year ago.
