Gasoline Prices To Drop Then Up Again
You guessed it, gasoline prices are on theri way up again, this time 1.71% for a litre of regular gasoline.

The petition was made yesterday by the Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo (Recope), arguing that international prices over the last 30 days as the reason.

The increase could go into effect within a month, though prices will drop temporarily in the coming week or Monday January 21, at the latest, as the price reduction approved by the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) last December 14 goes into effect.

Currently, a litre of regular gasoline costs ¢559 , but will drop to ¢551 once the price drop takes effect and then up to ¢560.43 if the new hike is approved.

Recope also requested a price hike for the price of super that will add ¢10.73 colones. The current price for super is ¢574, will drop to ¢562 and then rise to ¢572.73 when the new price hike goes into effect,

The same is not for diesel however. The the price of regular and super drop, diesel will go from the current ¢513 to ¢521 and the jump again to ¢524.13 when the new hike request goes into effect.

The roller coaster of gasoline prices is expected to continue for some time.
