Cuban Electoral
Authorities in Training
Cuba is preparing more
than 190,000 citizens to
work at voting places
January 20, when the
delegates to the
National Assembly and
the deputies for the
provincial assemblies
will be chosen.
Authorities from the
National Electoral
Commission (CEN)
confirmed that for
quality elections, the
citizens are attenging
practical content
seminars, with a dynamic
test January 13.
In total, the Island
will have 39,000 voting
stations, 600 more than
for municipal and
regional elections in
October.
There will be two
separate vote counts,
with white ballots for
candidates for
provincial delegate and
green ballots for
delegate to the National
Assembly.
More voting places
(electoral colleges)
will allow voters, who
for any justifiable
reason cannot vote where
they live, to vote where
they are.
Ballots to ensure
possible increase of
voters because of
exceptional
inscriptions, opening of
colleges in hospitals,
bus terminals, train
terminals, and others,
are already printed.
All Cuban citizens over
16 years of age, without
distinction of race, sex
or social origin, except
mentally disabled and
judicially unable to
vote, have the right to
vote.
