Strong Winds Cause Power Outages In 40 Areas
The strong winds of the last day or so caused some 40 areas in the San José area to be without electricity.

The figured was reported by the Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz (power and light company) repair department who has been scrambling to restore power to the affected areas.

The majority of the reports are for downed wires. causing damage to transformers resulting in power failures.

Some of the areas affected were downtown San José, San Sebastián, Paso Ancho and Desamparados.

Problems with power can be reported by dialing 126, 24 hours a day.

Officials of the CNFL promise to respond promplty to all calls.
