Costa Rica Opens Its
Doors To Tourism
Investors
The III Bolsa
Costarricense de
Inversión Turística
starts today at the
Hotel Intercontinental
as some 800 tourism
related companies,
owners of real estate
developments and
financial institutions
take part in the event.
Costa Rican president,
Oscar Arias, opened the
formal event for the
tourism sector and
organized by the
Instituto Costarricense
de Turismo (ICT), the
Coalición de Iniciativas
para el Desarrollo (Cinde)
and the private
consulting firm, KPMG.
"Costa Rica awakens an
enormous confidence for
tourism investors thanks
to the rules of law, its
hard working people and
a climate of peace and
friendship, together
with our natural
resources, convert our
country as an ideal
destination for
vacationers", said the
minister or Tourism,
Carlos Ricardo
Benavides.
The director of Cinde,
Gabriela Llobet,
commented that the event
is a great forum to make
necessary contacts to
orient investors in
business opportunities
in Costa Rica.
Llobet added that some
of the participants of
the event are high
ranking tourism
investors from around
the world, like the
Wyndham Hotel Group and
Six Senses, the latter
coming from Asia.
Benavides said that
during 2007 investment
in tourism related
projects reached us$800
million dollars. |
