Inmates Will Cell Phones A Problem For Prison Officials
Penitentiary officials at the La Reforma prison say that they have confiscated some 96 cellular phones from prisoners during the last 13 months, in one case, a prisoner had two cellular telephones. Prison officials say the prohibited items are smuggled in hidden in "intimate" parts of the body, especially by women who carry the contraband items in their vagina, among other placed, during visits as guards are prohibited to do a cavity search.


Most Dangerous Intersection in Costa Rica
Want to know which is the most dangerous intersection in Costa Rica? The intersection at the east end of the San José airport runway, where traffic from the Interamericana north, the airport and Alajuela meet to head east in the direction of San José, across from the Fiesta Casino. The intersection is responsible for 11 deaths in the last seven years and according to Tránsito (traffic) officials is the scene of an average of seven traffic accidents daily.

The latest accident came yesterday when a bus had altercation with a passenger vehicle, flipping over and injuring 32 passengers, some seriously. Fortunately there were no death recorded in that accident.


Couple Celebrates 50 Years of Marriage Today
A Tirrases couple this Valentine's Day celebrates 50 years of marriage. Lidia Alpízar and Rafael Ángel Huerta met in 1957 and were married on Valentine's Day in 1958. Compromise is the couple's secret for a lasting marriage, a marriage that the couple know well is not very frequent in today's society. "The first think in honeymoon and then comes hell" was Lidia's description of today's young couples as they do not spend enough time developing respect and love for each other.
