Ex-Pats Creating Daily
Animated Shorts From
Costa Rica
PodComics Studio is a
new animation studio
based in Costa Rica.
Their forte is creating
original animated shorts
that are available
daily, for free, Basing
their studios’ name from
the word “PodComics”, it
is the term coined by
the studio to describe
what they create.
Founder Patrick Davidson
says, “We see PodComics
as the evolution of Web
comics. We utilize
animation techniques to
release new episodes on
a consistent, daily
basis. PodComics are
intended to be watched
through the internet or
on portable media
players. We also provide
a Hi-Definition version
of most episodes for our
members.”
Their employees have
come together from all
over the world,
including the US,
Canada, India,
Australia, Brazil and
Costa Rica. Choosing to
base their studio in
Costa Rica, they are
anything but a typical
animation studio.
Starting Monday, the
website started
releasing original daily
animated shorts, five
days a week. The
PodComic that will
launch the new Web site
is “Traveling Gringos”,
with others slated to
follow shortly.
