Required Yellow Fever Vaccines Now Available in Costa Rican Pharmacies
Costa Rica finally has the yellow fever vaccine needed by those travelling to Colombia and other South American countries. 5.000 does of the vaccine are now available at the Clinica Biblica and Hospital Cima pharmacies and soon could be available at local pharmacies as well.

According to the Ministerio de Salud (Health Ministry), the Biblica and Cima require an appointment for the vaccination and at least 5.000 doses monthly could be received from supplies on a regular basis that will be available at many pharmacies.

The vaccine or a health certification in the event the vaccine is not available is required by all foreigners in Costa Rica who travel to South America for their return to Costa Rica.

The vaccination or health certificate is required at the time of boarding a flight to Costa Rica. If no vaccination or health certificate is available, boarding will be denied.

Foreigners wanting to get around the Costa Rican Salud requirement will have to fly to another country, the United States or Canada, for example, and then to Costa Rica.

The vaccine has an incubation period of 10 days.
