Bolivia's Special Force
against Drug Trafficking
confirmed Saturday that
in the first month of
2008, they seized more
than 186 tons of drugs,
especially marijuana and
cocaine base, which
confirms a greater
struggle against these
illegal activities.
Colonel Rene Sanabria,
the head of the
institution, told Prensa
Latina that in 31 days,
910 operations in
different regions of
Bolivia were carried
out, which permitted the
destruction of a
chemical lab, 380
factories and 616
grinding devices.
The same way, Sanabria
said 351 citizens from
different nationalities,
330 of them from Bolivia
and 21 from other
nations were arrested
and their files sent to
the Bolivian Public
Ministry to be legally
processed.
Among the regions with
most traffic, Sanabria
mentioned the
departments of
Cochabamba, La Paz,
Chuquisaca and Potosi.
He stated Bolivia is a
transit area for cocaine
produced in Peru to
enter markets in
Argentina, Brazil and
