ICE Sets Cut Off Date For Customers To Activate New Line
The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) has set the date of February 10 as the deadline for customers who have reserved a new GSM cellular line but have yet to get connected.

ICE warns that on February 10, at 8:00pm, all reserved lines that have not been activated will be offered for sale on a first come first served basis.

Orlando Cascante, director of Servicios Móviles del ICE, said that 70.000 of the 300.000 lines are still not activated. Cascante added that many of the customers who did not connect were waiting for ICE to offer pre-paid SIM chips.

ICE is still studying the concept of pre-paid SIM chips and may be ready to offer the service in some months, though there is no definite date set.
