4.000 Cowboys To Invade
San José Next Friday
4.000 cowboys will take
part in this year's
"Tope Nacional" held in
San José on December 26,
all proceeds going to
the Hospicio de
Huérfanos de San José
(Orphanage), said the
municipality which
organizes the annual
event.
The Tope kicks off at
1pm in downtown San
José, beginning at the
east end of the Sabana
park, moving along Paseo
Colon and onto Avenida
Segunda.
As usual, members of the
Cruz Roja (Red Cross)
and the Fuerza Pública
(police) will be on hand
to provide first aid and
to prevent rowdiness as
drinking and riding
horses is still
permitted.
Following the last of
the horses will be a
clean up crew to, well,
clean up.
Last year the Tope
provided ¢100 million
colones from the annual
festivities. |
