Passage On The Interamerican Sur "Regulado"
Traffic on the Interamerican Sur, between the Valle Central and Pérez Zeledón continues "regulado", meaning traffic is only open to one lane between 5am and 6pm, as machinery continues to clean up the road following a landslide last Saturday.

The ministerio de Obras Públicas says the road will be completed closed between 5pm and 6am.

The vice ministro de Obras Públicas, Pedro Castro, explained that the highway will be closed at night due to the danger of more landslides.

According to the Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (Conavi), the landslide occurred at kilometre 116 of the highway, near the Lagunilla intersection, where 4.5 cubic metres of mud landed on the roadway.

Tránsito (traffic police) officials are being kept on the scene to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

The ministra de Obras Públicas y Transportes, Karla González, confirmed that most of the mud has been cleaned from the roadway but work continues to effect repairs caused by the mud and water.
