Students To Attend School After Hours and Saturdays To Make Lost Time Due To Strike
According to Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP), public high school students will be required to make up the 22 lost school days by putting extra hours during the week and Saturdays, all caused by almost four weeks of the teachers strike.

Teachers belonging to the Asociación de Profesores de Segunda Enseñanza (APSE) finally came to terms with the MEP on Thursday and decided to return to the classrooms.

Alejandrina Mata, vice-minister of académica de Educación, said that the time lost must be made up and it will be the responsibility of the teachers, principals and the students to ensure that the students receive the lessons lost.

Mata said it was clear that part of the agreement was that school hours would be expanded and include Saturdays if necessary.
