A fire ignited by
fireworks swept through
a crowded Quito
nightclub Saturday,
leaving at least 15
people dead and 35
others injured, local
media reported.
The nightclub is located
just 500 meters from the
main commercial center
in the southern area of
the capital.
Rescue workers continued
to search for bodies,
while inspectors were
investigating whether
proper security measures
had been in place, the
reports said.
