Brazil's Police Arrest Father, Stepmother of Dead Girl
Father and stepmother of a girl allegedly thrown to death from window of a six-floor apartment were arrested, Brazilian police said on Friday.

The girl's father Alexandre Nardoni, 29, and stepmother Anna Carolina Jatoba, 24, may face murder charges for killing 5-year-old Isabella de Oliveira Nardoni, police inspector Aldo Galeano told Brazil's Globo TV network.

The two will remain in custody until prosecutors decide whether to bring formal charges against them.

Isabella Nardoni was found dead on the lawn on March 29 below her father's sixth-floor apartment in Sao Paulo.

Police found a hole cut in a safety screen on one of the windows, and believed Isabella was thrown from the apartment.

Police are still investigating if the girl died before or after the fall as they also found blood in her room.

Alexandre Nardoni denied the charge, claiming an intruder had killed his daughter.
