OAS Secretary Visits Ecuador to Solve Ecuador-Colombia Crisis
General Secretary of Organization of American States (OAS) Jose Miguel Insulza held a closed-door meeting with Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa here Friday to discuss proposals on solving the crisis between Ecuador and Colombia.

My mission "aims to reduce current tensions between both countries and restart their relations," Insulza told reporters before meeting Correa.

Ecuador broke off diplomatic relations with Colombia on March 3after Colombia's army attacked a rebel base of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in Ecuadorian territory on March 1,which killed 26 people.

"Both countries have political willingness, we have to make it work through this complex negotiation, which I hope to report at the Medellin meeting" in June, said Insulza.

Meanwhile, Correa said that "it is impossible to reassume diplomatic relations as long as "Colombia continues to try to involve him with FARC." Enditem
