Cuban President Meets Russian Minister
Cuban Council of State and Ministers President Raul Castro met Russian Federation Transportation Minister Igor Evguienevich Levitin.

Evguienevich Levitin presides over his country's delegation to the Eighth Cuban-Russian Inter-governmental Commission for economic, trade and scientific-technical collaboration taking place in this capital, Granma newspaper reports Wednesday.

The Cuban president talked of the historic ties of friendship between both peoples, the successful course of bilateral relations and the confidence to strengthen links.

The co-president of the Russia-Cuba Inter-governmental Commission, bearer of a friendly message by President Vladimir Putin, analyzed initial results and expectations of his visit to Havana that, in addition of the Commission sessions, includes meetings with other leaders and visits sites of economic and scientific interest.

The island's Governmental Minister and Cuban-Russian Inter-governmental Commission co-president Ricardo Cabrisas and Cuban ambassador in Moscow Jorge Marti Martinez also attended the meeting.

Russian Federation ambassador to Cuba Andrey Victorovich Dmitriev, and Alexander Alexeievich Andreiev, international collaboration director at that country's Transportation Ministry accompanied the visitor.
