Nestle Panama Accused of Alleged Collusion In Dairy Market
Panama's Consumer Protection Authority has said that the Nestle subsidiary in that country has been accused of alleged collusion in the dairy market, reported Reuters.

According to the authority, three more companies are facing similar allegations.

The authority suspects that the companies were involved in monopolistic practices, consistent with the exchange of information and fixing and imposing prices for the purchase of wholesale milk from producers.

The results of a month's-long investigation into all the companies accused of involvement have been submitted to a Panama City court for ruling, the authority said.

In case the allegations are found to be true, the companies would have to pay a fine of $1 million each. In its response, Nestle Panama said that it will give a statement in this regard only after studying in detail the accusations made by the authority.
