In Costa Rica Want Equality
Groups in Costa Rica are asking Costa Rican
president, Oscar Arias, to help them create more
equality among gays, lesbians, bisexual and
trans-genders.
Increase in Women Drunk Drivers Worry Tránsito

Women drunk drivers are also a problem for the
Policía de Tránsito (traffic police) as they
report that on average three women walk home and
fined ¢26.000 colones, resulting from being
caught in their net of nightly operatives
against drunk driving.

The United States ambassador to Costa
Rica, Mark Langdale, is being described by
oppositors to the Tratado de Libre Comercio
(TLC) - free trade agreement with the United
States, Central America and the Dominican
Republic, as a leader in the movement in favour
of the trade deal.

Couple Sentenced To 25 Years For Neglect of
Infant
The Tribunal de Juicio de San José yesterday
sentenced a couple to 25 years prison for
causing the death of their two month old child.
Mudslide in Cartago Claims Three Lives
The rainy season is not only rain and more rain,
but also of floods and mudslides. Yesterday, a
little girl and two women were buried alive by a
mudslide that swept away the vehicle their were
riding in, in Tierra Blanca, Cartago.
