Rosales, general director of
Guatemala's Prison System, rose
exits to three.
Rosales was subpoena for
unauthorized transfer to El
Boqueron maximum security prison
of four policemen that slain
three Salvadorans members of the
Central American Parliament and
a driver.
Luis Arturo Herrera, Jose Korki
Lopez, Jose Adolfo Gutierrez and
Marvin Escobar Mendez were
executed barely two days after
their jailing.
A judge ordered preventive
custody in the capital but
Rosales ordered their transfer
without notifying court.
President Oscar Berger accepted
the resignation due to recent
riots at three precincts, with
three inmates dead and several
wounded.
Rosales followed ex Cabinet
Minister Carlos Vielmann and
Civilian National Police
Director Erwin Sperisen, blamed
for the rampant insecurity in
Guatemala.
