Panamanian Construction Workers in Protest
The Panama's single construction workers´ union (SUNTRACS) continued demonstrations and street closings Wednesday to demand security measures in their sector, which deficiencies have already caused 10 deaths this year.

The protests continue despite an agreement between union leaders and representatives from the Labor Ministry and Panamanian Construction Chamber for a temporary commission to revise construction projects.

Genaro Lopez, SUNTRACS secretary general, said they will be on the streets all this week.

While criticizing the SUNTRACS decision, Labor Minister Reinaldo Rivera said the leasing enterprises should fulfill security regulations to avoid more mortalities.
