Guatemala-El Salvador Summit to Discuss Killings
President of Guatemala Oscar Berger traveled on Friday to El Salvador, where he is expected to meet with his counterpart Antonio Saca about investigations into the killing of three Salvadoran deputies and their driver.

"The issue of the deputies' assassination obviously ranks first in the agenda," Saca told journalists shortly before Berger's trip, the first since the massacre of February 19.

Bilateral links got tenser when four of the Guatemalan police officers responsible for the crime were killed in prison, which was seen as an act to wipe off evidence.

A fifth agent linked to the incident, Marvin Contreras, is to testify before court today.

There has been little progress in the investigation so far, as the motive and those responsible for the crimes have yet to be determined.
