Quake Shakes Panama, No Victims
A 5.5 earthquake (Richter scale) was registered in the northern coast of Panama Wednesday morning without causing damage or victims, the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) reported.

The SINAPROC report, citing the University of Panama s Institute of Geosciences, noted the quake occurred at 8:58 local time with an epicenter 24.2 miles deep, associated with the North of Panama Belt.

Roberto Velazquez, SINAPROC general director, said the quake was felt in the cities of Colon and Panama, but repeated that it did not cause damage or victims.
