Cerverceria Buys Pepsi Bottling
Unit
SABMiller Plc, the world's
sixth- largest brewer, sold its
Costa Rican Pepsi bottling unit
and a share in a real estate
development in the Central
American country to Florida Ice
& Farm Co. for us$116 million.
SABMiller acquired the bottling
operation and real estate as
part of the acquisition of
Colombian brewer Bavaria in
October 2005, the London-based
company said today in a
Regulatory News Service
statement.
The sale of the bottling unit to
Costa Rica-based Florida Ice &
Farm will be finished by the end
of the month.
Florida Ice & Farm owns the
country's brewery Cerveceria
Costa Rica, brewers of Imperial,
Pilsen, Rock Ice, Bavaria and
under license, Heineken beer
brands.
Florida Ice & Farm also owns
Florida Bebidas which bottles
and markets the Cristal bottled
water and a Tropical and Marimbo
fruit juices.
