Wanted Pastor Arrested in Costa
Rica
A religious leader wanted in the
United Sates for allegdly
violating a 14 year old girl was
arrested by the Fuerza Pública
(police) yesterday while he was
preaching in a Alajuela
evangelical church.
The man identified as David
Jonathan Barret, 47 years of
age, who was pastor of the "the
house of living waters" in
Gerogia, is accused of using his
position to befriend the young
girl, who attended religious
services daily.
In addition, last December,
three new charges were made
against Barret of vexing. Barret
was also charged in December for
having left U.S. territory
illegally in an attempt to avoid
arrest.
Yesterday's arrest was a
co-operation of the Unidad de
Inteligencia de la Fuerza
Pública and undercover Interpol
agents.
According to police, Barret had
moved around following the news
of his wanted appeared on the
interent, moving at least four
times during the last three
months.
The Tribunal de Juicio de San
José is now in the process of
considering the extradition
request against Barret made by
the State of Georgia.
