Costa Rica's Medical
Tourism Finds New Option on the
Web
As a result of increasing costs
in medical services provided in
the United States and Europe,
people have recently been drawn
to visit countries abroad to
have medical procedures done at
a lower cost and comparatively
same quality.
In Costa Rica (currently one of
the most popular medical tourism
destinations), the Clinica
Biblica Hospital has played a
key role in the expansion of
these offerings, and it has now
released a new website providing
direct access to its medical
procedure expertise and services
for international patients.
Guest Services Director, Lorena
Morera explains: "For a long
time the Hospital Clinica
Biblica has been visited by
patients from USA, Canada and
some European countries to have
cosmetic surgery, bariatric
procedures, and cardiovascular
treatments among others.
In other cases, patients are
healthy but they come to Costa
Rica for a vacation and have
their annual medical check up.
In all cases, we have always
made sure our guests receive a
personalized service that will
fit their particular needs. So
our new website is a natural
step towards evolving our high
quality service, with all the
necessary tips and tools that
potential guests require before
making a decision of traveling
to Costa Rica for a medical
procedure."
Hospital Clinica Biblica, a
general hospital located in
San José, was founded in 1929,
and enjoys an excellent national
and international reputation for
quality care in many areas;
including plastic surgery, eye
surgery, weight loss surgery,
and a wide range of outpatient
services such as medical
check-ups.
A great part of its success has
been due to its renowned quality
of health care services
provided, which is currently
under a Joint Commission
International certification
process.
The Hospital is also staffed by
many dedicated -and US trained-
physicians and surgeons. "We are
proud to say that our patients
receive the most appropriate
care delivered by knowledgeable,
compassionate physicians who are
among the leaders in their
respective fields in Costa
Rica", notes Lorena Morera.
Additionally, the difference in
cost for all procedures provided
by the Hospital results in an
inexpensive option, specially
for people with no insurance or
that cannot pay the high cost of
healthcare in the United States.
For example, a surgical breast
enlargement in the US is on
average $10,000, whereas at the
Clinica Biblica the prices start
at $4,000.
The new Hospital Clinica Biblica
medical tourism website not only
provides detailed information on
each procedure offered, but also
has travel sections to help you
plan a complete trip to Costa
Rica.
