Guatemala Under Pressure to Solve Crimes
Diverse sectors in and out of Guatemala have increased on Wednesday their pressure on Oscar Berger´s government to prevent the assassination of four Salvadorians and their supposed executors remains unpunished.

Human rights organizations expressed their concern about infiltrations by the organized crime in the public security machine, and denunciations about the existence of death squads in the country.

Although Government Minister Carlos Vielman denied those versions and demanded deputy and presidential pre-candidates Otto Perez Molina, he said to be convinced that such groups exist.

Perez Molina said he will present a denunciation to the Attoreney General´s Office, giving details of the execution groups that have infiltrated the government ministry and National Civil Police (PNC).

Meanwhile, Salvadorian lawyers shaped a team to act as adhesive plaintiffs in the case of the assassination of deputies Eduardo D'aubuisson, William Pichinte, and Jose Ramon Gonzalez, and their pilot Gerardo Ramirez.

The group also will be able to obtain all the information about the execution of those who are supposed to be responsible for that massacre, PNC investigators Luis Arturo Herrera Lopez, Jose Korki Lopez Arreaga, Adolfo Gutierrez, and Marvin Escobar Mendez.

A Salvadorian Security Cabinet top level committee went to Guatemala on Tuesday to meet with their counterparts and obtain information about the inquiries´ progress.
