Panama, Spain Sign Understanding
Panama and Spain's respective leaders, Martin Torrijos and Jose Luiz Rodriguez Zapatero, confirmed by signed documents a deep understanding in international and economic policies.

A joint release signed by both presidents and jubilant declarations at the farewell toast, before Zapatero's return to Madrid only eight hours after his arrival, gave the sense of business improvement between the two countries.

The Joint Communique affirmed that both presidents expressed their satisfaction for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding agreement to avoid tax evasion and double imposition.

Furthermore Zapatero announced that Spain and the EU have committed 650 million dollars to enlarge the Panama canal.

Torrijos assured that negotiations are going extremely well thanks to both government political will.
