Guatemala Extols Caribbean
Integration
Guatemala's Vice president
Eduardo Stein said on Sunday
that the Association of
Caribbean States has become,
since its foundation in 1994,
the space to bring together all
the countries of that vast
region.
Stein made his remarks during
his speech at the 12th Ordinary
Meeting of the ACS Council of
Ministers, attended by foreign
ministers, vice ministers and
delegations from over 25
countries.
The Guatemalan vice president
considered of a great success of
the association that the UN
General Assembly passed a
resolution for the sustainable
development of the Caribbean
countries.
Meanwhile, Cuba's vice Foreign
Minister Bruno Rodriguez noted
that the ACS has a great
importance for strengthening
cooperation and agreements to
achieve a common destiny in the
region.
Ministers and vice ministers of
the 25 ACS´ countries will
analyze and approve the
administrative budget of the
association, as well as
agreements on trade, transport,
tourism, and sustainable
development.
